Each year, the Bill of Rights Institute hosts an essay contest that does two things: encourages students to think deeply about their constitutional rights and helps them pay for college!
We call it our We the Students essay contest!
And this year, we're asking students to weigh in on the ongoing debate between liberty and security.
Here's the prompt:
Our Founders believed that the Bill of Rights should guarantee your individual liberty. But how has our government compromised on your rights in the name of security?
Students who answer this question in a 500-800 word essay will have a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000 and a scholarship to our annual summer event for students in Washington D.C. There are also a number of cash prizes for runner-ups.

Flosum Scholarship - $750 - 1 Award (Deadline: December 15, 2015)
Student Eligibility:
1. The applicants must be enrolled in an accredited 4-year university or college located in United States;
2. Graduating high school seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or above are also eligible to apply for the scholarship;

Good360 Sustainability Scholarship
- $1,000 - 1 Award

Student Eligibility:
We want to hear how sustainability has touched your life. If you’re a high school senior applying to college, or you’re currently a college student, and you have an interest in sustainability and the environment, then we’d love to hear your thoughts on what sustainability means to you. Thus, we’re sponsoring a college scholarshipwith an award of $1,000 to go towards tuition.

Two weeks left to apply!
October 30, 2015 — The deadline to apply for the Daniels Scholarship Program is only two weeks away! The application will close on November 13, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scholarship application can be accessed through our website at DanielsFund.orgalong with additional information about eligibility requirements, selection criteria, application process, and selection timeline.
Please encourage students to complete and submit their applications as soon as possible and not to wait until the last minute — our staff and system get very busy as we get closer to the deadline!
Important reminders:
All three of the following components must be submitted for an application to be complete:
- Eligibility Questionnaire
- Application — including uploaded documents
- Recommendation
ACT/SAT scores must be entered in the application and official proof of scoresmust be uploaded to the Required Documents section of the application before the deadline. All test scores must come from a single test — superscoring is not allowed.

Open House- Pickens Technical College for students interested in programs for the 2016-17 school year.
Our Fall Open house is Thursday November 19th between 4:40-6:30 pm. This would be a great chance for your students to visit Pickens Tech, meet instructors and tour programs of interest.
