Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. You may also forward this information on to others whom I may have missed. All young women between the ages of 16 and 19 are eligible, so you may even know of a young woman who graduated last year who would make a terrific candidate for our award. Good luck.

More information will be coming soon, however the Colorado Department of Education announced last week it had selected the SAT and PSAT for the junior and sophomore assessments. As more information becomes available it will be updated on the assessment page.
I have been trying to find how to present information on scholarships. The scholarship page has resources and links and details where to find information I have put out. I am open to feedback so please let me know your thoughts. emorrone@kiowaschool.org. Please see the Scholarship page for more information.
Please be sure to check the calendar as well for due dates. All scholarship notices are highlighted in green on both the Calendar and the news feed.
Seniors: If you have chosen or selected a college, be sure to check with their financial aid departments. They will have more information on scholarships for their institutions as well.
The following list is just a partial list. Please be sure to continuing to check various recourses for more scholarship information. Resource files have applications or more information. Click read more to get to the resource files.
As many people heard about the upcoming change and the short notice it provided to juniors, the State is reconsidering their decision for this school year. They are working on a plan to have juniors take the ACT. Mrs. Morrone, Mrs. Brownlee and Mrs. Ahlene, are working together to help provide good information for students to feel prepared for this assessment. The assessment is tentatively scheduled for April 19th with a make-up day on May 3rd.
What does that mean for your student?
Please see information on the high school page as for a comparison between the ACT and the NEW SAT.
Not only did the state select the SAT provided through Collegeboard, but Collegboard has gone through a long process to update and change the SAT to a newer more updated version based on educational research. In many ways, some of the test mirrors some of what students may be familiar with from the ACT.
Some other good news, there is a free test prep program through Khan Academy. The downside is it is currently based on the old version of the test. https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat
I will keep updating information as more informaiton becomes available.
