Parent Resources and Information

I wanted to provide a place that held information that can be helpful for parents, regardless of what the needs are. 

Some resources that are more specific for grade levels will be contained on their building pages.

A few suggestions to help your child to be successful in school:
1.     Be positive and expect your child to do well in school.
2.     Focus on important goals and discuss what is needed to achieve them.
3.     Get your child into good daily study habits.
4.     Try to take a few minutes each day to discuss schoolwork with your child.
5.     Set reasonable limits on TV, phone calls and social activities.
 
Tips for parents:
  • Be a good listener.
  • Get to know your child's friends and parents.
  • Maintain an open and honest dialogue with your child.
  • Help your child deal with peer pressure.
Always remember. . . YOU are the most important person in your child's life

  • Connections for FamiliesConnections for Families is a State of Colorado Collaborative Management Program located in Elbert County.
  • We help children/youth (birth to age 21) and their families connect to providers and other resources in which benefits their goals of success.

  • Healing Hearts of Bereaved Parents:   Hope and Friendship, helping grieving parents and their families.  
  • Parenting Resources & Links:   A site developed by psychologists with issues in parenting and access to resources with helpful links.  ​​​​​​​
  • Parenting with Love and Logic: Techniques to help parents raise responsible children, with more fun and less stress.  Books, classes, and seminars. 
  • PBS Parents: Issues and advice, fun and games, TV programs, child development, reading & language, talking with kids and much more.
