Colorado Council on High school/college Relations

 Volunteerism/Community Service Scholarship

To encourage and reward college-bound youth who likewise are committed to volunteerism and community service, the Council awards $1,500 one-time scholarships to 16 deserving Colorado high school seniors or continuing college student each year to assist with defraying the cost of tuition and fees at one of the Member Institutions.

Qualifications

  1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or continuing college student
  2. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident and a resident of Colorado for his or her final two years of high school
  3. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at a Colorado Council Member Institutions within six months of graduating from high school
  4. Applicant must demonstrate significant experience in volunteerism/community service
  5. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Application Instructions

  1. Complete and proofread the full application (including your essay document).
  2. Email this page's website link to the people from whom you have requested recommendations. Your recommender needs to email the form directly. 
  3. Submit all pieces of the application postmarked, submitted or emailed no later than January 29, 2018. 
  4. Award recipients will be notified no later than May 1, 2018. 
  5. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. 

Note: The Executive Committee of CCHS/CR has the right to change or modify this program in any manner. This award is for a maximum of $1,500 is non-renewable and contingent upon the availability of funds. 


 

Pinnacol Foundation

For children of a parent who was seriously injured or killed in a work-related accident. The Pinnacol Foundation provides post-secondary scholarships to these students as they pursue their dreams by continuing their education. Our scholarship averages $3,500 per year/per student, and is renewable for up to five years. Scholarship applications are being accepted through February 15, 2018.

Museum of Contemporary Art Denver Failure Award Scholarship

Due Feb. 15th 

The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) Failure Award Scholarship provides scholarships to deserving Colorado high school seniors who have embraced the spirit of creative risk-taking and innovation. Finalists will be presenting their projects to the public at the MCA Denver on Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14th, 2018. 

Eligibility

Students who meet ALL of the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Are a resident of and attend high school in Colorado
  • Will graduate from high school in the spring of 2018
  • Will attend an accredited four-year college or university in the fall of 2018
  • Are able to attend the Failure Fair on April 13–14, 2018

Note: Projects of all types will be considered, including, but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, fashion, technology, design, and others.

 

Applicants must demonstrate creative thinking, innovation, and a willingness to risk failure. Applicants must submit a proposal for a creative project, which, if selected, will present to a panel of judges and the visiting public during the MCA Denver Failure Fair. Participants will be evaluated on creativity, innovation, and their ability to present a project within the theme of risking failure as an integral part of the creative process.

 

 

Award amounts range from $700 to $10,000!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

RBC Wealth Management Colorado Scholarship 

This is a highly selective scholarship opportunity for exceptional Colorado students planning to pursue a college degree in science, mathematics, or engineering.

Five $3,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2018. Students will be selected based on academic excellence, leadership ability, community engagement, and a strong aptitude for science, math, or engineering. We typically receive up to 100 applications for this competitive opportunity so please ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying.

 Divorce Matters Scholarship.

This scholarship is available high school seniors and current college students who have either had parents go through a divorce or who have gone through a divorce themselves.  Divorce Matters understands how difficult it can be to pay for college after being involved in a divorce and want to help someone afford a better education.

Here are some brief notes on this scholarship:

  • $2,500 (One-time award)
  • Due May 31, 2018
  • Must be attending a 4-yr college/university or 2-yr community college for Fall 2018
  • Incomplete or Late Applications will not be accepted

 Mitchell & Crunk Adoption Scholarship

I'm pleased to announce the Mitchell & Crunk Adoption Scholarship. This scholarship is now available to any high school senior nationwide.
