Individual Career and Academic Plans
Information for 9-12 and their parents
Purpose
An ICAP is to assist a student and his or her parent/guardian in exploring the post-secondary career and educational opportunities available to the student, aligning course work and curriculum, applying to post-secondary education institutions, securing financial aid and ultimately entering the workforce. (This was taken from the CDE website)
The ICAP was part of a bill passed to make sure students were given access to all the opportunities available.
Kiowa's Process --- Changes are coming!
- Kiowa requires a new 4-year plan every year. This tool for the ICAP used each year is to be signed by parents and students.

The Resource File contains various pieces of information. Another term to know is PWR or Post-secondary Workforce Readiness.
Upcoming Changes!
The ICAP will become a google document, each student will get their own copy. Samples of the pages are included below. We will also use YouScience as part of our process and information to continue supporting students in finding their post-secondary pathway. Other grade-level specific checklists will be added to their ICAP folders to help them complete pieces of the planning process.
